Dr. Ahmed Ameen Al-Obaidi has owned Redwood Dental for more than 14 years, making it his longest-running practice and a big part of his life in Thunder Bay. He cares for patients of every age, from routine checkups to complete smile restorations, with a focus on dental implants and clear aligners.

Training and credentials
Dr. Ameen’s career has taken him across four continents. After earning his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery in 1997, he practiced in underserved communities in North Africa, then completed advanced oral surgery training in Scotland and earned his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. In 2018, he became a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), and after completing his Canadian board examinations at the University of Western Ontario, he trained in the United States to become a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. In October 2026, he was also inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dental implants and full-arch reconstruction are Dr. Ameen’s main focus, backed by thousands of implant cases over his career. Whether a patient is missing one tooth or several, he walks them through each option and what recovery will look like.
Invisalign and SureSmile clear aligners

Cosmetic dentistry
Dr. Ameen also provides cosmetic dentistry to help Redwood patients feel confident in their smiles. His cosmetic work has earned him a place among the 3 Best Rated Cosmetic Dentists in Thunder Bay.
Teaching and leadership
Dr. Ameen founded and leads High-Tech Dental Seminars, where dentists from across Canada and abroad learn implant surgery and clear aligner therapy through hands-on training. His programs include the nine-month Canada Implant Residency and international implant programs at Foundational, Advanced and All-on-X levels. He speaks on full-arch surgery in Canada, Mexico and the United States, and is an annual speaker for the Ontario Dental Association.

At home, Dr. Ameen is a proud father of four who loves soccer, swimming and traveling. He speaks English and Arabic.

Dr. Dabas believes that patients should never feel rushed, judged, or left wondering what is happening with their oral health. She takes the time to explain what she sees, why it matters, and what treatment options are available, so every patient can make informed decisions with confidence.
Painless dentistry is at the heart of her practice philosophy. From routine preventive care to more complex dental needs, she strives to make every visit as comfortable and positive as possible. Her goal is simple: for every patient to leave feeling heard, genuinely cared for, and confident that they received the best care possible.
Dr. Dabas enjoys treating patients of all ages — from a child experiencing their very first dental visit to seniors she has had the privilege of caring for over the years. She believes every patient has a story, and building long-term relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of being a dentist.
Outside the dental office, Dr. Dabas enjoys hiking, gardening and caring for her plants, and finding creative ways to keep her mind curious and engaged. And, of course, much of it happens under the watchful supervision of her cat.
Dr. Ibrahim
GENERAL DENTIST
After graduating from the University of Gezira in Sudan in 2023, Dr. Ibrahim completed the NDEB equivalency process in Canada and the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) in the United States. He also holds a Diploma in Primary Care Dentistry (DipPCD RCSI) and is a Member of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MFD RCSI).
With a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim is passionate about creating healthy, confident, and natural-looking smiles. He is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and making every patient feel comfortable and valued. He also enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys spending time in parks and at beaches, especially in the early morning, where he appreciates the peace and beauty of nature.
