━ Why Choose Redwood

Why Choose Redwood Dental Centre as Your Thunder Bay Dentist?

Over 25 Years of Dental Experience

Dr. Ameen has been practicing dentistry for more than 25 years. That experience shapes how he plans care: he looks at your whole mouth, explains the trade-offs between options, and helps you weigh short-term fixes against long-term results.

Locally Owned and Operated

Redwood Dental Centre is owned and run here in Thunder Bay. Decisions about your care and our schedule are made in our office, by people who live in the same community as our patients.

NIHB and CDCP Made Simple

We accept Non-Insured Health Benefits for eligible First Nations and Inuit patients, as well as the Canada Dental Care Plan. Our front desk team handles the claims and pre-approvals, so you can focus on your visit rather than the forms.

Support for Dental Anxiety

If the thought of a dental visit makes you tense, you are far from alone. We start with a conversation, explain every step, and offer sedation options, such as nitrous oxide, for patients who qualify.

New to Thunder Bay?

Just moved to the city or looking for a new family dentist? We make switching easy. We can request your records from your previous dentist and get your whole household set up with one office.

━ Dental Services

Dental Services in Thunder Bay

Dental care at Redwood Dental Centre is provided by general dentists.

Children's and Family Dental

From a toddler’s first visit to a grandparent’s checkup, we care for the whole family under one roof. We keep children’s visits relaxed and positive, teach good brushing habits early, and let families book back-to-back appointments to save time and extra trips.

Crowns and Bridges

A tooth that is cracked, worn or heavily filled can be rebuilt with a custom crown that restores its shape and strength. If you are missing a tooth, a bridge uses the neighbouring teeth for support to close the gap. We will explain which approach fits your bite.

Dental Hygiene

Professional cleanings remove the plaque and tartar that brushing and flossing miss. Your hygiene visit includes a gum health check and personalized tips for care at home. Regular cleanings help us spot gum disease and other concerns early, when they are easier to manage.

Dental Implants

A dental implant can replace a missing tooth with a post that anchors in the jaw and supports a crown. Because our office holds a CT scanner permit, 3D planning images can be taken right here. We will review implants alongside bridges and dentures so you can compare.

Dentures

Full or partial dentures replace missing teeth so you can eat, speak and smile with more ease. Your dentist takes impressions, checks the fit, and makes adjustments over time. We can also talk about implant-supported options if you want a more secure hold.

Emergency Dentistry

A sudden toothache, broken tooth or swelling should not wait. Call us as early as you can on a weekday. We keep time open for urgent cases, find the source of the problem, and explain your choices before any treatment starts.

━ Technology & Comfort

Modern Dentistry With a Personal Touch

3D CBCT Imaging

Redwood Dental Centre holds a CT scanner facility permit from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. A cone beam CT scan builds a three-dimensional view of your jaw, nerves and tooth roots. Your dentist may recommend one when planning implants or investigating a problem that a standard X-ray cannot show clearly, and you will not need to travel to another clinic for it.

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

With CEREC CAD/CAM technology, some crowns, veneers and other restorations can be designed and milled right in our office. For suitable cases, that can mean finishing treatment in a single visit, with no temporary and no return trip. Your dentist will let you know at your exam whether same-day treatment fits your tooth.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays let your dentist see between teeth, below fillings and under the gum line, where problems often start. Images appear on screen within seconds and use less radiation than film. We take X-rays only when they are clinically needed, and we are happy to walk you through what they show.

Time to Talk Things Through

We do not rush the conversation. Before any treatment, your dentist explains what is happening, answers your questions, and gives you a written estimate. If you want time to think it over or talk with family, that is always fine. You decide what to do and when.

━ Payment & Coverage

Flexible Dental Payment Options

You should know what your dental care will cost before it begins. Your dentist reviews the recommended treatment, the expected fees and what your coverage is likely to pay, so you can plan ahead with no surprises.

Private Dental Insurance and Direct Billing

We accept most dental insurance plans. With assignment of benefits, we bill your insurer directly, so at your visit you usually pay only the portion your plan does not cover. For larger treatment, we can send a pre-treatment estimate to your insurer first.

Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)

We accept NIHB for eligible First Nations and Inuit patients. Some treatments need pre-determination from NIHB before they can begin, and our team submits that request for you and keeps you updated.

Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

We accept patients covered by the Canada Dental Care Plan. To check your eligibility and coverage, visit the Government of Canada CDCP website or call Service Canada.

Beautifi Financing

For larger treatment, Beautifi financing lets you spread the cost over time with monthly payments. Financing is provided by Beautifi and is subject to approval and their terms and conditions. Ask our team about it or apply online.
